Who doesn’t love a bar that’s dedicated to all things wine? Luckily, we’ve got plenty of them here in Birmingham. Grab your friends and make your next wine night plans at these local spots.

1. Aviné

The perfect pairings. (Bham Now)

Owner Gray Maddox has years of experience with Frank Stitt restaurants, so you know you’re in good hands. Aviné offers delicious small bites, cocktails and of course an impressive selection of wines.

2. The Wine Loft

Currently, The Wine Loft is only open to the public on Wednesday evenings. Get over that mid-week slump with eclectic tapas, a sophisticated ambiance and wine by the glass or bottle.

3. Freddy’s

There’s never a bad time for some wine. (Bham Now)

Freddy’s, located on the first floor of Highland Towers Apartments, has all the specials. Every Tuesday-Thursday from 4-6PM, a different regional wine is $2 off a glass and house wine carafes are $2 off as well. On Mondays, bottles of wine are half off all night. Sounds like a plan to me.

4. Red or White

Well, which do you prefer? (Matthew Niblett/Bham Now)

Stop by to relax and enjoy a glass of wine at the bar. Once you’re done, you can buy a bottle to take home from their extensive selection of reds, whites and more.

5. Classic Wine Company

Take a seat and enjoy some sips. (Jacob Blankenship/Bham Now)

Classic Wine Company has been a Birmingham staple for over 30 years. Take a seat at the relaxing bar, where you can enjoy a selection of over 30 wines by the glass.

6. Vino

Vino was a finalist for the “Most Romantic” spot in our Nowie Awards. (@vinogallerybar on Instagram)

Vino has a romantic ambiance, wonderful wines and fresh food options to create an ideal wine night for you and that special someone. Especially if that special someone is your pup—dogs are allowed on the outdoor patio!

7. Gianmarco’s Wine Bar

A nice glass of wine—that’s amoré. (@gianmarcowinebar on Instagram)

Gianmarco’s won the Nowie Award for the “Most Splurge-Worthy” spot in Birmingham. Did you know the authentic Italian restaurant also has a dedicated wine bar? Call ahead to make your reservation.

8. Golden Age Wine

I mean, I’m drooling already. (Golden Age Wine)

One thing’s for sure, Golden Age Wine will look amazing on your Insta feed. Grab your pals and plan a night (or day) full of charcuterie and wine.

9. Hop City Beer + Wine

Take your pick and try it too. (Hop City Beer + Wine)

What doesn’t Hop City do? Before you buy from their vast selection of wines, sample a glass at their wine bar. You know, just to make extra sure that you’ll like it. To stay up to date with their latest goodies, follow them on Instagram.

10. Honorable mention: Galley and Garden

Choose from the most expansive wine list in Alabama. (Bham Now)

While Galley and Garden is not specifically a wine bar, we had to give them a shoutout. With over 500+ wines to choose from, they have the most expansive and most awarded wine selection in Birmingham.
